HEX INVERTER SCHMITT TRIGGER

The MC74AC14/74ACT14 contains six logic inverters which accept standard CMOS Input signals (TTL levels for MC74ACT14) and provide standard CMOS output levels. They are capable of transforming slowly changing input signals into sharply defined, jitter-free output signals. In addition, they have a greater noise margin then conventional inverters. The MC74AC14/74ACT14 has hysteresis between the positive-going and negative-going input thresholds (typically 1.0 V) which is determined internally by transistor ratios and is essentially insensitive to temperature and supply voltage variations. Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of signals can the MC74AC14 accept?

It accepts standard CMOS Input signals, including TTL levels for the MC74ACT14, and can transform slowly changing inputs into jitter-free outputs.

What is the typical operating temperature range?

The recommended operating ambient temperature range is from -40°C to 85°C.

How does Schmitt triggering benefit input signals?

Schmitt triggers calculate hysteresis between positive and negative going thresholds (typically 1.0V), making them insensitive to temperature and supply voltage variations.

What are the recommended operating voltages?

The suggested operational range for VCC is typically from 5.0V to 6.0V, but the minimum and maximum ratings allow operation between -0.5V and +7.0V.
