Texas Instruments CDC208 Data Manual1 Specification
Summary
The CDC208 is a professional clock driver designed for reliable signal fanout applications in digital circuits. This dual-channel device takes one input and distributes it to four outputs while minimizing skew, ensuring stable clock distribution. The manual provides comprehensive technical specifications, including 3-state output control options (OE) and operational parameters across a wide temperature range of –40°C to 85°C. Ideal for electronics engineers needing high-precision, low-skew timing signals for system integration and complex digital designs.

description The CDC208 contains dual clock-driver circuits that fanout one input signal to four outputs with minimum skew for clock distribution (see Figure 2). The device also offers two output-enable (OE1 and OE2) inputs for each circuit that can force the outputs to be disabled to a high-impedance state or to a high- or low-logic level independent of the signal on the respective A input. Skew parameters are specified for a reduced temperature and voltage range common to many applications. The CDC208 is characterized for operation from –40°C to 85°C.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the CDC208 use for efficient clock distribution?
It uses a flow-through architecture to optimize GND and minimize high-speed current bounce while fanning one input signal to four outputs.
How can I manually control or disable the outputs?
Use the dedicated two output-enable (OE1 and OE2) inputs; they can force signals to a high-impedance state or defined logic level.
What is the reliable operating temperature range for this chip?
The CDC208 is specifically characterized for stable operation across temperatures from –40°C to 85°C.
Which logic interfaces are supported by the device?
It supports TTL-compatible inputs and CMOS-compatible outputs, ensuring broad integration options.
