STEVAL-ILL039V1

Step-up current controller for 2 LEDs based on the STLDC08 driver

Data brief

Features Input voltage: 0.8 V to 3.6 V Output : 2 LEDs at ILED = 200 m A Dimming mode with external PWM signal Ro HS compliant

Description The purpose of the STEVAL-ILL039V1 demonstration board is to provide an example for applications of an LED driver using the step-up controller STLDC08.

STEVAL-ILL039V1

The STLDC08 is designed for handheld equipment supplied by AA or AAA batteries and provides a precise constant current starting from a variable input voltage source. The LED current is set by an external sense resistor inserted between the feedback pin (FB) and GND. A regulation loop holds the voltage drop at the sense resistor at a constant level (100 m V typ.).

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the LED current level set on this controller?

The LED current is determined by inserting an external sense resistor between the feedback pin (FB) and GND.

What batteries can I use with this system?

The STLDC08 is designed for handheld equipment, typically supplied by AA or AAA batteries.

Does the STEVAL-ILL039V1 board support dimming features?

Yes, it supports dimming mode when an external PWM signal is provided.

What voltage range does the controller accept for input power?

The supported input voltage range is 0.8 V to 3.6 V.

How stable is the regulated output voltage drop?

The regulation loop holds the voltage drop at the sense resistor at a constant level, typically 100 mV.
