Texas Instruments ULN2001A, ULN2002A, ULN2003A, ULN2004A, ULQ2003A, ULQ2004A Specifications (Part 2) User Manual
Summary
These high-voltage Darlington transistor arrays are essential drivers for switching demanding loads from low-voltage logic signals. Ideal for electronics designers building control systems, these ICs feature multiple NPN pairs perfect for relay, lamp, or display driving (LED/gas discharge). The accompanying manual provides comprehensive details on various models, package types, input compatibility (TTL/CMOS), electrical specifications, and complete ordering guidance to ensure reliable, high-current switching performance.

The ULN2001A, ULN2002A, ULN2003A,
ULN2004A, ULQ2003A, and ULQ2004A are
high-voltage, high-current Darlington transistor
arrays. Each consists of seven npn Darlington pairs that feature high-voltage outputs with common-cathode clamp diodes for switching inductive loads. The collector-current rating of a single Darlington pair is 500 m A. The Darlington pairs can be paralleled for higher current capability. Applications include relay drivers, hammer drivers, lamp drivers, display drivers (LED and gas discharge), line drivers, and logic buffers. For 100-V (otherwise interchangeable) versions of the ULN2003A and ULN2004A, see the SN75468 and SN75469, respectively.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which ULN model is best suited for TTL or 5V CMOS operation?
The ULN2003A and ULQ2003A are recommended because they feature a 2.7-kΩ series base resistor, allowing direct operation with these input types.
Is the ULN2001A still available for purchase?
No, the ULN2001A is obsolete and is no longer supplied by Texas Instruments.
What is the maximum current capacity of one Darlington pair?
The collector-current rating of a single Darlington pair within these arrays is 500 mA. The pairs can be paralleled for higher capability.
