Dell C2722DE Statement of Volatility

Summary

Statement of volatility for the Dell C2722DE monitor documenting all volatile and non-volatile memory components on the system board. Non-volatile items include IC Flash U303/U2003 (MX25L3233, 32Mbit firmware with Delta-E calibration data, hardware/software write protected), EEPROM U302 (M24C32, 32Kbit scaler data), EEPROM U1203 (M24C02, HDMI EDID storage), Flash U1303 (MX25L8006E, 16Mbit PD controller firmware), and Flash U1903/U1906 (MX25L2026E, 2Mbit HUB controller firmware). All are software

Statement of Volatility – Dell C2722DE CAUTION: A CAUTION indicates either potential damage to hardware or loss of data and tells you how to avoid the problem. The Dell C2722DE contains both volatile and non-volatile (NV) components. Volatile components lose their data immediately after power is removed from the component. Non-volatile (NV) components continue to retain their data even after power is removed from the component. The following NV components are present on the C2722DE system board. Table 1. CAUTION: All other components on the system board lose data if power is removed from the system. Primary power loss (unplugging the power cord and removing the battery) destroys all user data on the memory (DDR3, 1067 MHz). Secondary power loss (removing the on-board coin-cell battery) destroys system data on the system configuration and time-of-day information.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of components lose their data immediately after power is removed?

Volatile components lose their data immediately after power is removed.

What are the key non-volatile components on the C2722DE system board?

The NV components include IC FLASH U303/U2003, IC EEPRM U302, SO-8 U1203, IC FLASH U1303, and IC FLASH U1903/U1906.

How is user data stored on the system board?

User data (e.g., DDR3 memory) is lost during primary power loss, which occurs when unplugging the power cord or removing the battery.
