Dell E2318HN - Statement of Volatility
Summary
Dell E2318HN/HR/HX monitor Statement of Volatility documenting all volatile and non-volatile memory components on the system board. Lists four non-volatile components: an MX25L4026E 4Mbit Flash memory (U502) storing firmware, Delta-E and uniformity calibration data; an FM24C16D 16Kbit EEPROM (U503) storing scaler data; and two 24C02 2Kbit EEPROMs (U301, U401) storing VGA and HDMI EDID respectively. All non-volatile components are placed on the Interface Board with hardware/software write protect

Statement of Volatility – Dell E2318HN/HR/HX CAUTION: A CAUTION indicates either potential damage to hardware or loss of data and tells you how to avoid the problem. The Dell E2318HN/HR/HX contains both volatile and non-volatile (NV) components. Volatile components lose their data immediately after power is removed from the component. Non-volatile (NV) components continue to retain their data even after power is removed from the component. The following NV components are present on the Dell E2318HNHR/H system board. Table 1. Frequently Asked Questions
What happens to the Dell E2318HN after losing power?
Volatile components lose their data immediately; non-volatile (NV) components retain data even without power.
Which types of memory components are 'non-volatile' on this system board?
The system board features FLASH (MX25L402), EEPROM (FM24C16D), and other EEPROMs (24C02 U301, 24C02 U401).
How is user data protected on the non-volatile components?
The FLASH, FM24C16D, and EEPROM components are hardware/software write protected and generally not accessible to users by placement on an Interface Board.
